Company History & Core Business

1992
The Company was incorporated on 20th January 1992 as Commercial Fund Management (Private) Limited, with the initial promoters being Commercial Bank of Ceylon Limited and Singer (Sri Lanka) Limited. The company was one of the pioneer Unit Trust Fund Management companies established in Sri Lanka.

2007
CT Capital (Private) Limited, a fully owned subsidiary of CT Smith Holdings Limited acquired controlling interest of Commercial Fund Management. Subsequent to which the company was renamed CT Fund Management (Private) Limited.

2010
Re-branded and re-launched Corporate Identity as Comtrust Asset Management (Private) Limited.

2014
CT Smith Holdings Limited was re-branded as CT CLSA Holdings Limited, subsequent to a 25% equity investment by CLSA.

2022 
With the objective to reposition the Comtrust Asset Management (Pvt) Ltd consistent with all business units under the single brand identity of CT CLSA, the company was rebranded as CT CLSA Asset Management (Pvt) Ltd.

2023 
CT CLSA Holdings Ltd acquired full ownership of Guardian Acuity Asset Management Ltd in January 2023. In March 2023 Guardian Acuity Asset Management Ltd  was merged with CT CLSA Asset Management (Pvt) Ltd.

2025
Re-branded and re-launched Corporate Identity as CT Smith Asset Management (Pvt) Limited.
